CF-L1 and USAW L1 Coach
My fitness journey didn’t start with big goals or competition in mind - it started simply with movement. In the early 2000s, I got into biking as a way to stay active, but overall, I was coming from a pretty sedentary lifestyle. It wasn’t until 2015 that things really began to shift. I started running and incorporated bootcamp-style workouts, which pushed me in new ways and helped build a foundation of endurance and strength. Those early years were about showing up, learning consistency, and proving to myself that I was capable of more.
In 2017, I was introduced to CrossFit, and that’s when everything truly changed. The combination of coaching, community, and constantly varied challenges took my fitness to another level. Over time, I went from just trying to keep up to setting bigger goals and chasing new experiences.
That journey led me to competing in the DEKA World Championship in 2024 in the Co-Ed Mile with Chris for our age division, one thing I never would have imagined years earlier. Along the way, I also discovered a love for trail running, taking on the challenge of mountain terrain multiple times at various distances, and completing three half marathons, including one along the rim of the Grand Canyon. What started as small steps toward a healthier lifestyle has turned into a journey of growth, resilience, and pushing limits I once thought were out of reach.
